Dr. Eunice Kang
HEART Youth Symphony conductor
Originally from Raleigh, NC, Eunice Kang began playing the cello in middle school and has been in love with Orchestral music ever since. She is a proud graduate of the University of Georgia (D.M.A. 2003), the University of Akron (M.M. summa cum laude), and Indiana University-Bloomington (B.M. summa cum laude). She has performed as Principal Cello with numerous Orchestras, including Manchester Music Festival Orchestra, UGA Symphony Orchestra, and Athens Symphony.
Dr. Kang has been the Director of Orchestras at Clarke Central High School in Athens, GA since 2005, having previously directed both Clarke Middle and Clarke Central High School Orchestras from 2005-19. GO OWLS and GO GLADS!
Orchestras under her direction consistently earn ratings of Superior at Large Group Performance Evaluations and she has served as a clinician and adjudicator for districts across the state. In the summers, she teaches lessons and master classes at both UGA Summer Music Camp and UGA Community Music School Chamber Music Camp. Beyond her musical endeavors, Dr. Kang enjoys gardening, travel, and spending time with husband Joe and their sweet pets Ghia (cat) and Shoki (dog).
