Will Panter is currently a fourth-year undergraduate at the University of Georgia studying Music Education. He is the recipient of the Hugh and Jessie McKee, The Fantona Fowler Bisson, and The Olin G. and Melba Joy Parker Scholarships within the Hugh Hodgson School of music. His primary instrument is the trombone and he has performed with the UGA Wind Ensemble, Wind Symphony, and Trombone Choir. During his first two years at UGA, Will was a member of the Redcoat Marching Band and has since used his time to instead work with various high school programs both during the summer and during the fall semester. As a young conductor, Will works privately with high school drum majors and was also the Orchestra Director for Shrek The Musical at the Historic Morton Theatre this past spring.
Will’s ultimate goal is to move into the classroom after graduation and to start working with high school band students! His involvement at UGA is centered not only around his musical development, but also his leadership and personal development. Will is a Student Coordinator with the Dawg Camp Extended Orientation Program and has been a Site Leader for IMPACT Service Breaks within the Department of Student Transitions and the Department of Engagement, Leadership, and Service. He is so excited to be with HEART Music this year!
