Title: Social Media Marketing and Community Outreach Intern

Hours: approximately 5 and up to 10 hours per week

Position Overview: The Social Media Marketing and Community Outreach Intern will provide direct support to the Executive Director with a focus on, but not limited to, the areas of design and execution of social media campaigns, content creation in the form of infographics, video reels, posts, and captions, as well as the areas of outreach and relationship building within Athens, as well as nationally. The Social Media Marketing Intern will be responsible for social media analytics each month and strategizing ways to improve our reach and engagement while understanding the needs of various demographics and communities.

Responsibilities and Duties of Position:

Work with the executive director to create a plan for social media strategies monthly.

Work with the executive director to create a plan for community outreach (including volunteers)
strategies that can be assessed and revisited monthly

Assist in the growth of our non-profit by raising awareness through various social media platforms.

Monitor postings to ensure our mission is conveyed clearly and consistently– from the terminology
used to images posted.

Aid in the aspects of promoting campaigns and events.

Interact with followers and potential constituents by communicating and answering questions through
the our social pages

Assist in implementing plans to increase followers on popular social media websites such as Instagram,
Facebook, YouTube, and LinkedIn.
• Assist in graphic design, photography, and video “reel” creation.

Due to the periodic need to run local errands (<15 miles), a valid driver’s license and access to personal

Confidence with Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator or InDesign

Experience with Social Media and other digital distribution channels

Experience in content creation and branding.

Aptitude to learn new software and systems
